DESCRIPTION: And. Vermeulen, Amsterdam, Netherlands, tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven movement in a burl walnut veneer case with stepped top, hood has frieze with blind fret and faux columns flanking door, trunk door with lenticle glass over faceted base resting on bun feet. The brass dial has silvered chapter ring, moon phase, calendar aperture and maker's signature under 6.
CONDITION: the case has an old finish. A strip of the upper backboard on the left has been replaced and a small support has been added to the top of the backboard. There are some veneer repairs throughout and some loose veneer at bottom of base. The lenticular glass has been replaced. The weights are period but may be replacements. Atlas holding the world and angel finials are absent.
